Main objectives:

Organization and coordination of State Medical and Pharmaceutical University "Nicolae Testimitanu" international relations with international bodies, state and public organizations from abroad.

Establishes contacts and carries out negotiation activity regarding collaboration contracts with medical universities, medical institutions, other institutions and organizations from abroad.

Performs research activities regarding the offers for the establishment of programs, international cooperation grants.

Relations with foreign Organizations

Maintains permanent relations with foreign organizations representatives in the Republic of Moldova (Soros, French Alliance, TACIS-TEMPUS, UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF etc).

Interuniversity relations

The basis for this cooperation serve letters of intent, records, conventions and cooperation agreements. Such documents have been concluded with 23 universities and institutions from France, SUA, Romania, Russia, Holland, Italy, Siria, Jordan, Germany, the Ukraine, India, Poland etc.

Grants and programs

Elaborates materials and organizes training seminars for SMPhU "Nicole Testimitanu" staff pertaining to grant obtainment and project administration. Consults SMPhU "Nicole Testimitanu" staff in the establishment and development of international projects for scientific and training internships, application to international project contests.

SMPhU "Nicole Testimitanu" is engaged in 5 international projects. As a result of these projects and grants our University benefits of technical assistance, training and scientific elaborations, training materials in CDs, workbooks, compendiums, audio and video materials, scientific and training equipment.

Current events

Mr. Mahendra Prasad, Member of the Parliament of India became Doctor Honoris Causa of the SMPhU "Nicolae Testemitanu"

The honorific title Doctor Honoris Causa (D.H.C.) of the University was awarded to Mr. Mahendra Prasad, Member of the Parliament of India at the extended meeting of the Senate of the SMPhU "Nicolae Testemitanu" dated as of July 3, 2004. His Excellency had been in Chisinau 2 years ago, visiting the University as well. Since that time he has performed a lot for the extension of bilateral relations between the University and institutions and organizations from India.
Due to His Excellency's efforts the Medical Council of India recognized our university as medical institution eligible for training Indian citizens. Mr. Mahendra Prasad also supported the extension of cooperating in the field of medical research and providing textbooks in English language for the educational process.
Mahendra Prasad has been a Member of the Parliament for more than 20 years; he is a well-known statesman in India: his various interests and activities demonstrate a high intelligence and endless talent of this son of India. He had visited 163 countries, strongly contributing to the empowerment of the relations between his country and those states. Nowadays he is a member of Headboard of the Council of India for scientific research, invited permanent member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs, member of the consultative Committee of Ministry of Finance etc.



His unique experience in communication development between countries contributed to the development of collaboration activities in medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Receiving the D.H.C. diploma Mr. Mahendra Prasad mentioned that he was proud of the honorific title awarded by one of the most prestigious universities he visited and he would make efforts necessary for the extension of the multilateral cooperation between Moldova and India, promotion of the SMPhU for the Indian youth; he will continue to contribute to the development of the educational process at SMPhU, its supply with contemporary equipment and study materials, exchange professors and students between Moldova and India, performing joint scientific research.
